SPID creates shows with young people in Kensal House in which the audience is right at the centre of the action, and runs a diverse programme of workshops to engage and inspire young people in the local community.
Our “Far Far Away” programme offers free workshops to provide children and teenagers (ages 8 – 13) with a broad, hands-on experience of the different art forms involved in creating a theatre production, with the opportunity to perform in a show which they have helped to create. Our workshops have covered skills such as stage combat and music, with upcoming workshops in acting and sound & lighting design still to come. For further details, please visit our Youth Workshops page.
Kensington Stories is our other exciting programme, which will run from 16th September 2017 to 14th July 2018 and offers filmaking, radio, and theatre experience to young people aged 13 – 25, with the opportunity to gain a qualification at the end of the course. Kensington Stories enables young people to explore the history and heritage of Kensingon Stories, while gaining valuable practical skills. For further information, please visit our Kensington Stories page.
