SPID creates shows with young people in Kensal House in which the audience is right at the centre of the action, and runs a diverse programme of workshops to engage and inspire young people in the local community.
Do you want to see the work we produce? We’ll be holding performances of our latest youth show iAM at four venues across West London from 11 – 14 April, and we’d love to see you there. iAM is part interactive theatre, part game, part futuristic scenario – “I think, therefore… iAM”. Dates and venues can be found here.
Our “Far Far Away” programme offers free workshops to provide children and teenagers (ages 8 – 13) with a broad, hands-on experience of the different art forms involved in creating a theatre production, with the opportunity to perform in a show which they have helped to create. Our workshops have covered skills such as stage combat and music, with upcoming workshops in acting and sound & lighting design still to come. For further details, please visit our Youth Workshops page.
Kensal Voices is our other exciting programme, which will run from 13 April to 8 June and offer journalism, design and multimedia experience to young people aged 15 – 25, with the opportunity to gain a qualification at the end of the course. Kensal Voices enables young people to explore the history and heritage of Kensal House while gaining valuable practical skills. For further information, please visit our Kensal Voices page.
