I think, therefore … iAm

iAm explores our attachment to technology by giving audiences the chance to experiment and compete. Mixing immersive theatre, interactive games and a futuristic scenarios, the play addresses big subjects like morality and community in a digital age. It premiered in 2012, toured to schools and youth clubs in 2013, and returned to Kensal in 2014 for production marketed by the Bush theatre and supported by Arts Council England. It was nominated for an Off West End Theatre Award.

iAM received a four-star review from The Public Reviews: “combines entertainment value with a thoughtful message… A lot of thought and organisation has been invested in this show by the community theatre company SPID. It is brave indeed for a community theatre production to require participation from the audience. But it makes a lot of sense as it draws the audience into the action and engages with them. It is a clever and thoroughly delightful show and is well worth taking the whole family to see.” – Christopher Hong
